REPORTS TO: Senior Manager of Facilities and Operations
SALARY: $52,000-60,000 annually
JOB SUMMARY: The Facilities Associate is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of buildings/grounds to which they are assigned. This position requires the candidate to communicate effectively with leadership, faculty, and staff on a daily basis. The Facilities Associate must be flexible and willing to adapt to the changing needs of the School.
TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Security
To take appropriate responsibility to ensure the grounds and buildings are secure.
Take action in the event of weather/emergencies: fire, flood, snow, and accidents.
Groundskeeping
Lawn care: Mowing, edging, trimming, and watering lawns, fields, and turf grounds
Weeding: Hoeing, pulling, and thinning weeds from flower beds and other grounds
Irrigation: Setting up, adjusting, repairing, and cleaning irrigation systems
Cleanup: Picking up and removing trash, debris from the grounds
Snow removal: Shoveling sidewalks, steps, and doorways, and operating a snowblower or snow plow to clear roads, driveways, and parking lots
Availability for on-call emergencies, some evenings and weekends for school events, and all-night hours as needed to handle snow and ice conditions to prepare the school for an on-time opening
Maintenance
Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance to maintain an aesthetic, functional condition.
Check equipment, systems, and lighting.
Direct contractors and monitor work, mindful of classrooms and occupied spaces.
To carry out visual inspection of systems and equipment within the building and grounds.
To carry out visual inspections of fire routes and doors to ensure they are unhindered.
To report problems to the Director of Facilities.
To carry out basic maintenance to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Complete minor projects, including hanging pictures, putting up shelves, and furniture repair.
Install seasonal decorations within the building and throughout the campus
Assist the Facilities Team in ensuring that the building is properly maintained.
To assist members of the Facilities Team with requests, as required.
Space Set Up/Events
Coordinate tasks so as not to disrupt the school schedule or learning environment.
Set up and break down spaces with tables, chairs, and equipment according to specifications.
Arrange furniture, lighting, decorations, and equipment according to specifications.
Coordinate with Catering, A/V, and outside vendors for large events.
Manage traffic and parking.

At least 18 years old
High school diploma or equivalent required
At least two years of experience
Able to operate a variety of tools and equipment
Able to lift 50 pounds
Able to comfortably bend, stretch, lift, and move
Enjoy working outdoors in a variety of temperatures
Able to understand verbal directions and execute them with minimal supervision
Reliable transportation to work
Respond appropriately to emergency situations
Meet the physical requirements of the job
