The department of Early, Middle and Exceptional Education is accepting applications for a part-time instructor responsible for teaching coursework and/or supervising student teachers.
The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as needed basis based on enrollment. Anyone meeting the qualifications may be contacted for an interview and potentially hired when a need exists. Master's Degree in Elementary Education or related discipline.
At least five years full-time teaching experience in U.S. schools.
Successful preschool or public school experience.
Prior experience teaching course content or related topics.
Evidence of ability to successfully teach diverse student populations.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Successful interview.
Successful teaching demonstration for class teaching assignments
Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD or ABD in Elementary Education or related specialized discipline.
Supervisory or Administrative experience in public school settings.
Prior college-level teaching experience.

Teaching assignments are generally conducted in a typical collegiate classroom environment; online courses are taught through the University's learning management system.
Student Teaching Supervisor assignments are conducted in school-based settings across a wide geographical area. Transportation to/from school settings is the responsibility of the supervisor.

Teach courses face-to-face and online if necessary at the higher education level using lectures, demonstrations, class discussion, using online tools and/or equipment and/or other appropriate tools appropriate modes of education delivery.
Able to record and calculate grades, prepare course outline and syllabus, develop course and lesson plans, engage in the selection of appropriate textbooks and other teaching aids necessary to the delivery of instruction.
Use computer for email, obtain information on websites, prepare class documents, grade papers, submit final grades online and other duties related to teaching and advising students and serving the department, college, university and community.
No or very limited exposure to physical risks.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
