About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Dean of Khoury College of Computer Sciences, the Project Manager will effectively manage and prioritize multiple college projects and initiatives and will act as a high-level problem solver for the leadership team. The role requires liaising with key stakeholders in other parts of the university, occasionally liaising with external stakeholders, as well as working with the college leadership team in executing high-level strategic projects and priorities. This is a highly visible role and will be expected to be comfortable communicating and partnering with all levels of the organization.
The Project Manager also provides operational planning and support for the leadership and college including driving the annual retreat agenda and the annual all-hands agenda and programmatic efforts. The position will also provide project management for college working groups supporting the strategic priorities as needed. Last, the Project Manager will also perform high level diversified professional operations including administrative office support to the college when needed to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of Khoury College.
Regrettably, the university is unable to work sponsor for this role, now or in the future.
This is a hybrid position. You would be required to be onsite/in office two (2) days per week.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Provide project management to key efforts being driven by the Dean and leadership team. This includes providing updates to leadership and ensuring continued visibility into key college timelines and deliverables.
In partnership with Dean and leadership, drive annual all hands agenda and retreat agenda and any supporting programmatic efforts. Partner closely with the Events team on logistics of these 2 key college events.
Manage initiatives such as working groups in support of college strategic plan and in support of annual college goals.
Manage special projects and assignments for the Dean and leadership team. Understands and is sensitive to group dynamics and the political, confidential, and urgent sensibilities of special projects or initiatives.
Serves as liaison to university partners participating in Khoury College special projects and initiatives, including coordinating deliverables and communications.
Facilitates and/or leads project meetings, including drafting project plans, objectives, timelines, and action items.
In support of special projects, conducts research and compiles data, identifies specific tasks, drives accountability, tracks and reports progress against project plan.
Provides support for and participates in the strategic planning process and goal setting, advances and monitors progress on the organization's initiatives.
Identifies complimentary projects and advises organization on potential efficiencies.
Prepares draft communications and special messaging as required, collaborates with Communications in coordinating the production of various reports to achieve the maximum impact in reaching the intended audiences.
Leadership:
Leads team activities by coaching, guiding, and motivating colleagues and stakeholders to help move the project forward and deliver a positive outcome. Fosters a productive work environment by communicating regularly with teams and helping others develop important project management skills themselves.
Budget Management:
Makes sure that all projects get done without excessive spending. Be transparent and realistic about the cost so Dean is aware from the beginning how much they are likely to spend.
Executive Level Support:
Manages, coordinates and facilitates many demands for the leader's time by prioritizing requests and using independent judgment to identify and resolve potential conflicts. Uses diplomacy to respond quickly and efficiently to schedule changes. Anticipates needs by independently soliciting and providing necessary back-up and research materials in a timely way to ensure leader is well-prepared for all meetings, events, and speaking engagements.
Qualifications:
The role requires a comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and practices including knowledge of Agile Scrum practices. Outstanding communication, negotiation, scheduling/time management, critical thinking/problem solving, and risk management. Ability to learn and apply the technical know-how to move projects toward completion. Ability to coach, guide, and motivate others to move a project forward and deliver a positive outcome.
Knowledge and skills required for this position normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and a minimum of 3 to 6 years of project management leadership experience.
A minimum of three years of demonstrated project management leadership involving the execution of multiple projects or a large project.
Demonstrated experience with problem solving.
Demonstrated experience in influencing, organizing and leading others across all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated outstanding communication and influence skills.
Demonstrated experience in administrative operations with excellent time management skills
Knowledge and Skills

Excellent interpersonal, writing and presentation skills.
Able to work collaboratively and independently in a rapidly changing organization with competing priorities.

Knowledge of project planning tools.
Knowledge of SharePoint administration/ management.
