International Procurement Specialist – Non Ferrous Metals for G M Y, LTD. (1) Procure Non-Ferrous Metals in Mexico, Central America, and South America which involves: On a country specific basis, research and obtain knowledge of the market/region including but not limited to: pricing, quantities, quality, and reputation; Establish contacts and develop relationships with contacts of scrap metal suppliers in given market to ensure the commercial success of the transaction while protecting the company from liability; Discover what material is available from target suppliers in specific market/region; Negotiate/set purchase price and create contracts for material from suppliers; Continuously develop supplier network through regular personal visits and communications to ensure consistent supply of material. (2) Coordinate Transporting of Scrap Metal from country purchased to G M Y, LTD. facility which involves: Evaluate different freight lanes options and use most economical lane to move material between supplier’s locations and G M Y, LTD.’s destination in a timely manner; Work with customer to ensure packaging requirements and restrictions based on the type of metal being shipped are followed; Work and coordinate with Customs Agents and freight forwarders to schedule and manage local and international transport to ensure compliance with contractual and payment requirements; Ensure all documents use proper import/export codes which determine applicable customs duties and fees; Work with suppliers and ocean freight companies to coordinate the shipments and receipts of metals to comply with contracts and payment methods. (3) Provide Settlement Finding and Payment to Customer which involves: Inspect purchased material once received to ensure quality and quantity are what was contractually agreed upon; Communicate all findings back to supplier and negotiate any discrepancies that may exist; Settle/pay supplier accordingly. Work location is in Dallas, TX. Must travel on a short-term, as needed basis to various customer sites within the United States and globally to work with customers and broaden supplier network. Requirements are Bachelor’s degree in International Business, International Trade, or a related field + 3 years experience in the metal recycling industry in any occupation responsible for handling the purchase, operations & logistics management, & shipment of non-ferrous scrap metals in international markets.
