The Partnership Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and establishing new relationships with industry partners.
This role will primarily focus on the Greater Boston area but will also extend across Northeastern's network campuses, exploring locations that align with our partners' current footprints and goals.
The Partnership Development Manager will identify new opportunities and implement strategic outreach plans. This position requires a deep understanding of the Khoury co-op model, Partnership Initiative Program, student engagement opportunities, and various experiential learning models. The successful candidate will be well-versed in Khoury College's mission and the benefits of Northeastern University's extensive academic offerings.
This position is hybrid, with in-person presence required at our Boston campus.
Responsibilities:
Partnership Generation:
Identify potential companies, business areas, and technology sectors to establish and foster mutual partnerships to be managed by respective co-op coordinators.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across campuses to support relationship growth and expand partnership engagement with the greater university.
Work closely with the Co-op team to understand student demand and interest for co-op and experiential learning opportunities, ensuring the creation of appropriate pipeline.
Understand and meet key metrics for partnership development and co-op placements.
Relationship management:
Develop strong relationships within new organizations, identifying key stakeholders and executive leaders.
Create and implement opportunities for companies to engage with students, faculty, and staff.
Organize events, site visits, calls, and other touchpoints to nurture relationships and maintain a positive experience in support of the current efforts put forth by the co-op team and others.
Build key accounts for both Khoury College and the University by executing engagement strategies that deliver mutual value.
Work with co-op team to determine 'key accounts' identified through central model and act as relationship manager on behalf of Khoury College.
Identify Khoury specific value(s) for key partnerships supported through the central model and work in close connection to the Institutional Relationship Manager to manage partnership.
Data Management and Planning:
Consistently use Salesforce and other University-wide platforms to track engagement and inform future relationship development strategies.
Collaborate with teams to develop, implement, and monitor company-specific, sector-wide, and geographically based strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communication, Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in business development, partnership management, or related roles. Higher-Ed experience is highly preferred.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter, initiating and driving partnership development initiatives.
Proficient in pipeline management, with experience in reporting on partnership development activities.
Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work across units, departments, campuses, and colleges.
Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce - Lightning) and data analytics for efficient pipeline management.
Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative culture within teams and across organizational units.
