The Parking Services Program Aide, under general supervision, performs duties in parking enforcement, traffic control dispatch, and Special Controlled Access Network stations, and offers public assistance to university employees, students, and visitors. This is an in-office position in Stephenville Texas. Position is temporary based on the needs of the University with a maximum of 19 work hours per week.
The Parking Services Program Aide, under general supervision, will be responsible for providing parking information and campus directions to our customers, maintaining a standing stationary position to assist authorized vehicles in parking efficiently, and performing traffic direction while working Parking Services and Transportation. You can expect a lot of public interaction while providing customer service and traffic direction. There are two open positions for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
Enforces parking regulations by giving warnings and issuing parking citations including checking for overtime or illegal/restricted parking while driving a university vehicle. Applies and removes immobility devices. Keeps records and makes detailed reports. Moves and sets up barrels, barricades and other traffic control equipment.
May perform duties in dispatch office handling routine and emergency calls, disseminating information to the appropriate parties, providing license plate and parking permit information, coordinating activities with other agencies and/or emergency services and may direct the actions of other parking service officers
Provides information to employees, students, and visitors regarding campus parking regulations and directions.
Assists with coordination of department activities during special events. Assists with uniform and equipment inventory.
Provides low-level security while patrolling. Performs traffic control and direction duties.
Maintaining a standing stationary position to assist authorized vehicles in parking efficiently
Public interaction while providing customer service and traffic direction and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
Be friendly, courteous, and have strong people and verbal skills
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Work cooperatively with others or on your own
Other Requirements:
May work rotating shifts
