About the Opportunity
Khoury College for Computer Sciences is looking for a talented and passionate Web Content Manager to join our Communications team. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing, optimizing, publishing and maintaining high-quality content across our website, ensuring that visitors to our site have a seamless and positive user experience. Ideally, this candidate will be a strong systems thinker with editorial, writing, and storytelling skills.
Reporting to the Director of Internal Communications and Editorial Content, this position will work closely with leadership, faculty, enrollment marketing, academic services, the industry partnership team, and the development office to create content that effectively and persuasively shares the Khoury College story and engages visitors to join us in our mission of CS for everyone.
Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, and execute web editorial content that is clear, engaging, and amplifies the College's mission of CS for everyone.
Proactively write and manage content; taking ownership for quality and accuracy
Participate in the full web production lifecycle, including scoping out content requirements, writing, building, testing and ongoing management/refinement
Work collaboratively with the Web, Social and Creative Media teams to produce and publish compelling content
Ensure online content supports SEO goals, our brand standards, web style guidelines and legal and compliance requirements.
Incorporate learnings from analytics data into the development of content
Learn about our students, faculty, alumni, strategic partners, co-op partners and the overall College, to take the initiative to identify and propose new content
Drive quality assurance and accessibility issues to ensure site is in compliance with ADA standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Collaborate with Web Developer to monitor and track site performance, using SEO and web analytics tools to manage/understand user experiences(s) and recommend changes when necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
5 +years of writing and editing experience in a similar content management/digital production role, ideally for a website or equivalent
Experience in a content management system
Superior proofreading and copy-editing skills
Knowledge of basic HTML and web publishing
Understanding of SEO principles and content optimization
Familiarity with content strategy and messaging frameworks/best practices, SEO, and associated tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Keyword Planner)
Comfortable participating in open creative sessions, including brainstorming, work critiques, and internal presentations
Strong initiative with the ability to self-manage and self-delegate
Impeccable attention to detail
The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as work independently
Eye for detail, even under pressure
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and go above and beyond to meet deadlines
