About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Residential Life, which curates a living-learning environment for more than 11,500 students, is seeking a full-time Assistant for Resident Assistant Assignments and Selection to support the department's efforts in the recruitment and selection of more than 280 student resident assistants. Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Assistant will serve as a member of the Resident Assistant Recruitment, Selection, and Development working group within the department and will provide necessary administrative support to the functional area for the recruitment and selection of the student resident assistants. This position requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills. The Assistant will work directly and indirectly with professional staff and students to support complex department projects and processes. This position requires some evening and weekend hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree Required and the ideal candidate should have previous student or professional experience in College/University setting with a background in Housing & Residential Life or related field.
Excellent logistical thinking and creative problem-solving skills

Candidate must have the flexibility to work on several projects concurrently and demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
RA Selection and Assignments
Assist the Department of Residential Life in the creation of processes and initiatives related to Resident Assistant selection.
Maintain records of application, performance history, and roster for all Student Resident Assistant staff.
Submit requests for and maintain records of the following: background checks, student conduct checks, and GPA checks for all Resident Assistants.
Assist the Department of Residential Life with Student Resident Assistant accountability.
Manage Resident Assistant assignments in collaboration with Housing Services.
Complete Resident Assistant housing assignments for Resident Assistants with approved medical accommodations.
Assist with selection for each Resident Assistant recruitment cycle (Fall, Spring, and Summer), including overseeing scheduling, communication, and logistics using recruitment system (erezlife).
Collaborate with the Associate Director and Senior Assistant Directors in managing Resident Assistant vacancies and candidate waitlist.
Administrative
Schedule meetings, booking rooms and managing logistics such as A/V needs, catering, etc.
Transcribe meeting minutes, memorandums, and correspondence.
Manage the scheduling, preparation, logistics, and facilitation of special events/programs and meetings.
Proofread sensitive documents/websites.
Assist with creating presentations and facilitating training sessions for Professional Staff and Resident Assistants.
Oversee the uniform/t-shirt/name badge ordering, distribution, and inventory for Student Resident Assistants
Develop understanding of complex housing term transitions, called move-to-from, to assist with Resident Assistant assignments, move dates, and communication.
Customer Service
Respond to internal and external emails in a timely manner, keeping confidentially as needed.
Manage and respond to the Resident Assistant Email account.
Provide daily customer service via email, phone, Teams/Zoom, or in-person communications with Resident Assistants, students, and staff.
Budget Management
Manage a personal purchasing card, reconciling expenses monthly through Concur.
In collaboration with the Associate Director and Senior Director, review and track monthly budget purchases and reconciliations.
Assist the Senior Director, Associate Directors, and their teams with monitoring monthly balances and the transferring of funds across budgets.
Assist with purchasing of supplies and other special items for programs and events.
Assist with purchasing, tracking, and distributing prizes for Resident Assistant initiatives.
