Basic Functions and Responsibility:
The WEI Director will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive services for students in the Workforce Education Initiative (WEI) program. The position involves overseeing student intake, coaching, and budgeting while fostering equitable college processes and strategic planning. The director will serve as a thought leader in addressing barriers to access and success for students, aiming to accelerate their pathway to careers with wages exceeding 30% above the livable wage. Additionally, the WEI Director will provide guidance to the WEI Project Manager and other staff supporting grant activities.
Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, monitoring, streamlining, and evaluation of comprehensive services provided to students served by the WEI grant program. Collaborate with relevant college departments to ensure seamless student recruitment, success support, budgeting, reporting, and outcomes assessment.
Provide oversight for intake procedures, documentation, activities, and formal approval of students' admittance into the WEI program.
Lead strategic oversight and development of employer engagement initiatives to establish a direct pipeline between the WEI program and high-growth, high-demand employers. Cultivate and nurture strong partnerships with employers to create career pathways and job placements for WEI program participants. Collaborate with WEI Employer Engagement Specialists and the Career and Transfer Center to facilitate employer-related activities and ensure a seamless connection between students and potential employers.
Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with community-based partners who refer students to the WEI program. Connect students to local partners, including social services and resources within the community as needed.
Fiscal Expenditure Monitoring: Monitor and approve fiscal expenditures under the WEI grants. Collaborate with the grants and accounting office to submit related fiscal reports.
Data Collection and Reporting: Collect program performance data, assess outcomes, and support quarterly performance reports as required by state and/or college.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison for WEI, fostering collaborative working relationships with instructional areas, college staff, and community resource agencies.
Continuation Grant Proposals: Develop continuation grant proposals in collaboration with a grant project manager, department, division, and college for continued funding.
Record Maintenance: Monitor and maintain records of the services provided to each participant, including assessment, progress, and participation.
Work with college leadership to position the WEI program as a premier offering and drive awareness through effective marketing, recruitment, and outreach strategies.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Working Conditions:
Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Business, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in program management, student services, or workforce development, with a proven track record of successfully serving the target student population.
Demonstrated experience implementing equitable practices, processes, and systems for marginalized groups in a higher Ed setting preferred
Demonstrated understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles to address barriers to access and success for underrepresented students with a particular focus on the BIPOC community.
Experience in grant management, budget oversight, and fiscal reporting.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
Knowledge of higher education policies and regulations is an advantage.
Physical Demands:
Light lifting up to 10 lbs. and light carrying up to 10 lbs. Ability to reach above shoulder. Periods of time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending and stooping. Mobility to move from building to building on-Campus and to visit off-Campus entities. Work is performed in a general office environment and is sedentary in nature. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions.

Administrative supervision is received from the Assistant Vice President of Workforce Innovations and College Partnerships.
Supervision Exercised:
Functional Supervision is excised over WEI Manager.
HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 5:00 pm
SALARY: $81,265
This is a temporary grant position and continued employment, is based on the successful renewal of the grant.
Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have hybrid schedule options available after 30 working days.
