TheProject Manager advises, consults, and guides the project management process for medium - large scale cross-organizational projects. The Project Manager works closely with stakeholders in defining project charters, schedules, and budgets and leads the entire project lifecycle to deliver comprehensive solutions. The Project Manager works closely with senior stakeholders to identify project priorities and leads project teams to create project documentation and processes. The Project Manager adapts quickly to rapidly changing conditions and priorities, identifying risks, solutions, and opportunities to ensure goals are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Project Management: Leads the delivery of projects to support university strategy. Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation including project charter, communication plan, RACI, Risk Register. Develops detailed comprehensive project plans to monitor and track progress. Manages changes to the project scope and project schedule. Assists leaders and project teams to analyze progress, make decisions, prioritize, assess, and mitigate risk. Manages the relationship with the client and all stakeholders. Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Reports and escalate to management as needed. Performs risk management to minimize project risks. Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
- Project Management Service Development Contributes to the continued service development, including design, development, and maintenance of formal project management processes. Contributes to the development and delivery of training and related materials. Contributes to the development and refinement of templates, tools, and practices.
- Leadership: Leads team activities by coaching, guiding, and motivating your co-workers to help move the project forward and deliver a positive outcome. Foster a productive work environment by communicating regularly with teams and helping others develop important project management skills themselves.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Knowledge of Agile Scrum practices. Effective communication, negotiation, scheduling/time management, critical thinking/problem solving, and risk management.
Ability to learn and apply the technical know-how to move projects toward completion.
Ability to coach, guide, and motivate others to move a project forward and deliver a positive outcome.
Knowledge and skills required for this position normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree, Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and a minimum of 4 to 6 years of project management leadership experience.
