Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Bloustein School of Public Planning and Policy.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Organizes, administers and coordinates multiple facets of programs, projects, and/or processes related to travel training and instruction for people with disabilities and older adults, including planning, communications, curriculum and training plan development, skills assessment, evaluation, reporting, and program documentation.
Ensures accuracy of program records and deliverables.
Develops processes, evaluates program effectiveness, and identifies and recruits additional program resources and participants.
Assists with the undertaking of on-site training and evaluations of programs and services, assesses trainee needs and progress, and prepares appropriate recommendations.
Serves as liaison with various public and private institutions and agencies to determine special program requirements, modifications, or innovations.
Work is consistent with an understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the New Jersey Travel Independence Program (NJTIP) at Rutgers and the Voorhees Transportation Center.
Assists in research support activities.
Carries out routine and semi-routine work within work parameters for the unit and under general supervision.
Performs professional work that requires knowledge of general program coordination practices and the application and use of concepts, theories, and terminology of the organization.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field + 2 years of related experience.
Or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in social service, special education, teaching, training, or advocacy positions.

Equipment Utilized:
Applicants should be proficient using online meeting tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google meet and Facetime) to provide online training, lead/co-lead online presentations at schools, community-based organizations etc.
Applicants should also possess some social media fluency to assist with online marketing efforts and outreach efforts and proficiency with online file sharing tools, BOX, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive etc. for the dissemination of online materials and online reporting and correspondence between NJTIP team members, supervisors, school programs, customers etc.
The person in this position will need to be competent with Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Some knowledge and experience with riding NJ Transit buses, trains and light rail system.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The ability to work independently and walk up to 2 miles or more a day is required.
Position requires moving supplies and materials throughout the office on various projects; boxes may weigh up to 10lbs.
Work is often conducted in the field, working outside and onboard transit vehicles.
