Commercial Lawn Care Applicator Technician Duties:
Properly diagnoses insect, disease, and weed issues. Monitors lawn quality and communicates progress with supervisors.
As part of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), determines best approach to controlling pests using most economical and least hazardous practices.
Applies materials properly and operates equipment including trucks, backpack sprayers, hose reels, motorized spreaders, etc.
Safely handless materials and mixes and transports materials safely.
Maintains and promotes a safe workplace by following and enforcing all safety guidelines
Performs daily preventative maintenance on equipment.
Interfaces with customers in a courteous, cooperative, and competent manner.
Completes paperwork and administrative responsibilities.
Recognizes and communicates opportunities for site improvements and add-on sales
Attends trainings and acquires all certifications required for the position
May supervise 1-4 landscape crew members on seasonal projects
Preparing equipment and tools for the day’s work.
Safely transporting crew to worksites
Instructing crew on site and delegating responsibilities; training crew members on-site
Coaching employees and providing constructive feedback
Performing daily tasks including lawn maintenance, edging/mulching, and planting
Solving problems; elevating issues as appropriate to management
Inspecting jobs for quality and completion
Install and remove interior and exterior commercial holiday decor during Holiday season.
Perform snow removal work and be available for overtime / emergency snow removal when necessary
Physical Requirements
Sufficient manual dexterity to perform landscape functions using hand and power tools such as pruning shears, shovels, rakes, mowers, weed whackers, etc. Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stand for long periods of time, and traverse uneven surfaces. Must be able to move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and move weights of up to 100 pounds occasionally. #zr
Work Environment
This job requires employees to work constantly in outdoor weather conditions including extremes of heat and cold, humidity, and precipitation. This position may include exposure to certain toxic chemicals. This position is exposed to allergens such as pollens, insects, and chemicals.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a pesticide license with experienced in identifying turf, weed, trees, and shrubs.
Candidates with landscape experience, a willingness to learn, and a driver’s license will be considered.
