CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER (SE-CSP-IUSEA)

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Maintains professionalism when interacting with students, faculty, and employers to support the mission of the Career Development Department.
• Exercises care and focus when handling conversations and materials to ensure that they are interpreted and the appropriate updates, procedures and policies are applied.
• Creates process flows, and function forms for up to 28 events for Career Development, ACES, Mentoring.
• Ensures room reservations, catering, and day-of logistics are completed.
• Coordinates pre-event messaging, invoicing, and RSVP counts.
• General Clerical duties as assigned.
• Maintains focus and builds knowledge and understands when supervisors need to be involved in the solution to a problem.
• Interprets and applies institutional, governmental, and departmental policies/procedures and communicate them effectively.
• All tasks and activities related to this position are time sensitive and critical to the student success.

EDUCATION

Required

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at Indiana University who is Pell Grant Eligible
• Student resided in Indiana

SKILLS

Required

• Knowledge of computers and database/word processing software
• Proficient communication skills
• Excellent Excel and database knowledge
• Detail oriented
• Ability to work with wide range of people
• Ability to handle confidential information with privacy and sensitivity
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
• Ability to mentally concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to re-prioritize to meet existing demands

Preferred

• Experience with Diversity and Equity initiatives
• Past student organization leadership

This role requires the ability to move 10 pounds. This is a sedentary position involving remaining stationary for extended periods. Modest physical effort is required.

The person in this role should have a reliable form of transportation.
