Position Information Under the general direction of the Inland Empire Labor & Community Center (IELCC) at UCR, the Project Coordinator oversees the administration and implementation of day-to-day operations of the IELCC and its grants. The IELCC, which is administratively housed in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS), brings together workers, students, faculty, labor and community organizations, and policymakers to address critical issues facing working people and their communities in the Inland Empire and California, and to expand and improve their rights through research, education, engagement, and leadership building activities. The Project Coordinator position is a part-time appointment of 50% appointment (part-time). Part-time status will be reviewed biannually and the decision to move to full-time will be determined on workload and funding. Factors used to determine salary offer include experience, education, and other business/organizational considerations. The Project Coordinator position is a multi-year position, contingent on annual renewal of state funding for the center (which was designed to be on-going), or on the receipt of additional funding or workload needs. The Project Coordinator's duties will include but are not limited to supporting, and advocating for, the multi-faceted activities of the IELCC, and assisting with light Public Relations, list-serve, and social media duties, and correspondence to help publicize and communicate the IELCC, UCR's Labor Studies program, and their activities. The Program Coordinator will work with the IELCC's faculty director(s), Co-PIs, and faculty affiliates, Community Advisory Board members, graduate and undergraduate student assistants and interns, as well as the IELCC's community and institutional partners (including, but not limited to, the UCR Labor Studies program, other UC Labor Centers, UCR student program offices, and other UCR/UC academic and administrative units). The Project Coordinator will also carry out administrative tasks related to pre- and post-award contract and grant services, including but not limited to event scheduling and operations, procurement/reimbursements, financial record keeping, preparing budget estimates, hiring and payroll paperwork, travel, student and community outreach, and other administrative assistance and paperwork as needed. Hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm or partial days. The incumbent would be expected to attend in-person meetings and events. This position is also eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule. Schedule may change depending on department needs and college/university policies.

Minimum Requirements Strong skills in short term planning, analysis and problem-solving and customer service. Knowledge of a variety of administrative operations activities such as events planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines. Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and/or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees. Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Advanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and/or personnel management.
Familiarity or experience with unions, community organizations, the labor movement, and/or related social movements.
