Basic Function and Responsibility:
Under the leadership of the Controller, the Business Analyst is the first point of contact for technology within the department to manage the business needs of project stakeholders, customers and end users, and develop and help ensure the integrity of the data processes and systems within the Budget/Accounting Services and Procurement departments. This position will have a balanced understanding of the department's business needs and processes as well as relevant technology; they stay abreast of both business and technology trends and understand how similar areas in other institutions are using technology. They are responsible for facilitating, analyzing and understanding the functional relationships between departmental components of the college's administrative systems. Leads the development and implementation of efficient business processes, and the resolution of systems issues will be a primary component of this position. Duties include reimplementation conversion planning and testing, software defect management, module functional support, process oversight and scheduling, functional module training, ad hoc reporting, module representation for cross-system issues and procedural and change management documentation.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support by functioning as a liaison with the Information Technology department and by monitoring Budget/Accounting Services and Procurement computer application systems.
Partners with Information Technology to ensure data and process integrity is maintained.
Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs of stakeholders.
Maintain the business office application systems as needed, including reconciling system upgrades, table data maintenance, module testing of upgrades and enhancements, etc.
Develops and delivers training to Budget/Accounting and Procurement departments and other staff on changes to the application systems.
Provides leadership in the development and maintenance of departmental procedure manuals for implementation of delivered applications, including upgrades and patches and fixes.
Attends workshops and other meetings concerning new and/or updated information related to the systems the Budget/Accounting Services and Procurement departments utilize.
Develops and manages test scripts, scenarios and staff to ensure that patches/fixes to existing systems on new systems or enhancements, communicates changes and modifications of business requirements to project managers or stakeholders to resolve issues timely. Research existing technologies to offer insight and recommendations to departments.
Interprets complex requests to provide accurate reports that meet the requester's needs.
Designs and creates queries and reports for data analysis and validation, monitoring processes, and identifying functional problems for audits, quality control of batch and manual processes and other ad hoc data needs as required.
Uses data reporting tools and languages (SQL) to optimize system efficiency and manipulate and extract data.
Design, maintain, manipulate, and query databases/data warehouses for financial reporting and analysis
Manages the technical and functional implementation of recommendations resulting from auditor findings and internal and external complaints.
Leads continual service improvement in Budget/Accounting Services and Procurement by implementing and maintaining service management solutions to provide centralized monitoring of service requests including reporting and dashboards.
Proactively works with members of other departments to identify and implement key opportunities for operational improvements, especially with regards to processes and leverage of data/information.
Complete work according to project plans and time frames.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Working Conditions:
Bachelor's degree required in Business or closely-related discipline (e.g. Accounting or Finance) with evidence of coursework in information systems, computer science or related technical discipline.
Master's degree with coursework in Information Systems, Information Technology preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience working with Ellucian Banner platform, or similar ERP system.
Demonstrated experience in a similar business analyst role supporting software implementations.
Oracle database programming experience, preferably with PL/SQL, or an alternate report development tool.
Must be proactive and able to work independently with limited supervision in a team environment.
Strong analytical, organization, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Must be detailed oriented.
Demonstrates excellent customer service capabilities to achieve timely and high quality responses.
Proven ability to lead initiatives, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of software development methodologies.
Mobility to move from building to building on-Campus and to visit off-Campus entities. Work is performed in a general office environment and is sedentary in nature. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions.

SALARY: $65,958
Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have hybrid schedule options available after 30 working days. .
