The University of Detroit Mercy is seeking a motivated individual to work as the primary resource for the management of our recruitment solutions. The candidate in this role will be a member of the University's Information Technology Services team and will be working directly with our Office of Admissions Manager of Enrollment Systems, who is the University's most senior Slate CRM administrator, and our professional schools' Admissions offices. This unique opportunity allows the candidate the ability to directly work with each critical area to ensure success in this role.
The University's Office of Admission staff utilize the Slate CRM system to plan recruitment efforts, track progress, centralize communication and analyze effectiveness of recruitment strategy. This position plays an important role in helping to ensure the University is able to leverage data and the Slate CRM to the fullest extent possible in our University's recruitment efforts.
Initial projects will involve the set up and configuration of our professional schools' recruitment strategy within our existing Slate CRM environment under the direction of the Office of Admissions Manager of Enrollment Systems. This strategy will be defined by the professional schools.
This role manages the application processing from application to enrollment. Processes prospect and application files through direct and indirect system input; maintains and resolves issues with the integrity of the database. The role will also provide training and support to the University's Admissions office team members. Daily processing activities include communication to prospects and applicants through our Slate CRM system, email and phone, and writing reports.
Salary for this position is $75,000-$80,000.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate the design, implementation and maintenance of the University's Slate implementation
Develop CRM automation, report writing, query building, import creation, training, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems/platforms
Develop and maintain appropriate quality control for accurate delivery of business operations and processes
Collaborate with campus partners and vendors to implement new initiatives related to operations and technology to drive a culture of innovation and creativity that is critical to enrollment success in today's dynamic and competitive environment
Manage processes for data importing, data integrity, application management, project management, and quality control
Provide tech and Slate support for current staff, as well as on-boarding and off-boarding employees
Work with the office to ensure that all technologies are up to date and meeting the needs of modern enrollment and recruitment tactics
Plan for and lead the implementation of all new Slate components that position the college to stay up to date with recruitment and maximize the utilization of Slate
Serve as the Banner module manager for the Admission Office
Create and upkeep queries and reports used by staff that support the daily functions of the Admission Office and provide for weekly, monthly, and annual benchmarking
Extract data as needed for reports and research by leadership within Admission Office as well as other areas of the college
Create and manage Slate communication campaigns, mailers, interactions, workflows, and related Slate properties to achieve enrollment goals
Create import processes for data from 3rd party sources as well as information coming and going from the data warehouse
Train staff on the uses and updates of Slate and develop training materials as needed.
Create manuals to document policies and procedures
Act as a resource for all staff when dealing with Slate issues and correcting problems
Perform and assign data clean-up and other tasks that keep Slate running effectively and providing the data necessary for recruitment and reporting on a weekly basis
Become an 'expert' on all admission processes to better understand the needs of the office and college concerning reports, communication flows, and historical data
Collaborate with departmental leaders in decisions on best practices for the inclusion of prospective student data and adherence to best reporting practices and logical coding and storage for the most efficient use by the admissions office, President's Cabinet and other departments
Clearly articulate your choices and understanding of projects when presenting your work to colleagues. Take direction and criticism well and play a positive role in fostering a collaborative team environment. Be a 'problem solver' and take the initiative to identify what's not working and provide recommendations to advance the office
Manage the flow of data between the student information system (Banner) and the customer relationship management (Slate) platforms and act as a liaison between enrollment, marketing, IT and other offices as needed for requests concerning server and software maintenance as related to Slate or other enrollment technologies
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Preferred Qualifications
PL/SQL, MS/SQL or other structured query language experience desired.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including customer service and be able to express yourself in an open, honest and professional manner.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities amongst a collaborative team.
Goal-oriented with strong initiative, imagination and organizational qualities.
Must be able to think critically and creatively about how the Slate platform can be used to increase efficiencies and provide a more holistic experience to students, parents, and counselors to achieve enrollment goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
Experience with Technolutions Slate, Ellucian Banner software, report writing tools or other database solutions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient knowledge of HTML and XSLT highly desired.
Strong computer skills, including experience working with Slate and Banner. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn and apply new software and strive to consistently achieve excellence in all tasks and goals.

To move between and within campuses spread across the metro-Detroit area.
Additional Information
Transportation is a requirement as this position will involve meetings on multiple campuses within the Metro-Detroit area. The position will be primarily located on the McNichols campus.
Work Environment
Dynamic office and campus environment. Partial work-from-home opportunity. Standard work week is 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
