MICAâs summer PreCollege Art and Design Residency Program is a 2/4 week intensive college-level experience designed to help participants make the leap from thinking like a high school art student to thinking like an artist making art that reflects a new level of skill and personal vision, communicating ideas about art in daily critiques, and building a professional portfolio of work. PreCollege is designed for rising juniors and seniors. In conjunction with MICAâs Mission and Vision, our program provides a welcoming environment for all students through an inclusive community that values students of all races and ethnicities, sexual orientations and expressions, creative abilities, religious faiths, political affiliations, and socio-economic backgrounds. The Program Manager oversees and manages all components of the program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Â This position reports to the Open Studies Director of Youth Programs, Associate Dean, and Vice Provost and coordinates and manages the Pre-College Art and Design Residency Program.The Program Manager is expected to live in residency on campus beginning two weeks before students arrive and throughout the duration of the program and will be provided with a meal plan. The Program Manager is to begin working remotely in February 2023 at around 5 hours per week, gradually increasing as program approaches. This position manages daily operations including supervising and managing a staff of 40+, as well as overseeing all aspects of the residential programâs development and implementation. Â Â
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Â Advise students, families regarding program goals, expectations and student progress.Â
â   Manage student information
â   Acts as an ambassador for the program when appropriate
â   Maintain an open line of communication and support for students and their families
â   Provides supports, interventions, and referrals when appropriate for individual student needs
â   Communicate with Open Studies staff and Director of Youth Programs regarding progress and needs
Manage faculty and staffÂ
â   Plan and Implement all programming and procedures with staff
â   Manage materials and supply budgets
â   In conjunction with the OS registration staff, verify enrollment and receipt of necessary student data â   Coordinate events, transportation, field trips, visiting artists, workshops and exhibitions with support staff
Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications:
â   Bachelorâs degree required, Masterâs degree preferred
â   Minimum 2-years experience with high school aged youth, preferably in a residential life, camp, or educational environment; an emphasis on program management and/or administration is preferred
â   Demonstrate ability to handle information of a sensitive or confidential nature is required
Successful candidates will be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and supervisory skills, especially the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent written and public speaking skills, and the ability to work with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds are essential

â   Work environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
