Visiting Assistant Professor - Sculpture

Description
Teach three courses per semester in Sculpture. The sculpture program in DADAH is a multi-lab facility which includes the wood shop, metal shop, metal casting area, 3D printer, CNC, and laser cutting labs. Beyond keeping the space in clean, working order, there is the maintenance of tools for safety and function, the purchasing of materials, stocking, physically going to the store to get materials, and management of the student lab techs.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Attend meetings, participate in faculty led critiques and portfolio reviews, maintain necessary communications with students, faculty, and staff; attend departmental events and contribute to department academic life; contribute to department recruiting efforts via travel to area schools, engaging in portfolio review for prospective students, maintain communications with prospective students.

Minimum Qualifications
Master of Fine Arts or equivalent in relevant field. Mandatory skills: Wood shop, metal shop, life-casting, 3D printing. Two years solid shop experience - wood and metal construction. Including basic joinery skills in wood and MIG welding with steel. Have skills in traditional plaster casting. Experience with 3D printers and 3D slicing software.

Preferred Qualifications
Metal pouring experience, basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop for image editing, ability to create a class blog online. Lifecasting skills with algenate or silicone. Experience with plasma cutting steel.

Physical Demands
Shop environment with multiple types of tools. Indoor and outdoor working areas, covered and uncovered. Acquiring materials for lab upkeep and for student use will require a personal vehicle for purchase and transportation to Webster. Commonly lifting and moving items from 25-50lbs
