If so, the Monmouth Symptom Care Clinic is looking for an exceptional Patient Care Technician with strong critical thinking skills to join our team. The SCC unit provides urgent and comprehensive patient-centered care to MSKCCS patients. Patients are triaged/evaluated, and a decision is made to, admit, discharge or transfer a patient to another level of care regionally or in NYC.
Work under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse
Assist ourpatients in a timely, efficient and courteous manner
Handle stressful situations with a high-level of professionalism and caring
Responsible for taking patient vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collections
Responsible for ensuring a safe environment for patients
Assisting with patient transport within the building
Collaborate with the clinical team, providing assistance with procedures when needed
Utilize basic computer and data entry skills
An effective communicator, capable of figuring out how best to reach different audiences and executing your conversations based on that understanding
Excited to work as part of a care-giving, patient-centered team, capable of building strong relationships and delivering patient-centric solutions
A problem-solver, eager to take initiative in new situations and tackle tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm
Adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared goals and objectives
A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
A High School diploma or equivalent education
At least 1 year of patient care experience required
BLS certification required
Certification from an accredited Nursing Assistant or comparable training program required
10 hour shifts, ranging from Monday-Friday, 10am-8pm with a possibility for weekend rotation.
