Responsible for the coordination of phlebotomy and specimen collection services for all 3 shifts, including the support and organization of workflow, inventory management, training, and competency. Also works under the direction of the lab supervisors to evaluate employee performance and where necessary implement performance improvement plans and/or corrective action.A A Performs venipunctures and capillary blood collections as outlined in laboratory procedures; Familiar with specimen receiving and processing to include collection, handling, and transport requirements; Assists with other duties in the laboratory and hospital that do not require licensure, as assigned by the laboratory supervisors; Assist Lab Supervisors with any identified phlebotomy related tasks or projects, such as writing/updating procedures, evaluating new collection devices, and reporting staffing issues to the appropriate nursing coordinators.A Reports to and supports the Laboratory Supervisors.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
Five years of experience as a phlebotomist preferredA

Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 100 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching and standing are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
