![]() Life Science Research Professional 1 Stanford University Stanford University is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 1 to perform basic functions and activities involved in defined research projects, and independently conduct and analyze experiments. Dr. Bo Yu's lab in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University currently has multiple outstanding long-term job opportunities for full-time researchers, Postdoctoral fellows or lab manager. Dr. Yu's lab is investigating ovarian physiology and pathology, as well as Assisted Reproductive Technologies using cellular and molecular biology approaches. The clinical applications of our research spans from ovarian cancer etiology to preimplantation genetic testing. We use human samples collected from patients, mouse models, and organoid cultures. Our group collaborates with multiple departments at Stanford. The LSRP 1 will be responsible for collecting and transporting samples from the clinic or OR to the research lab, maintaining cell culture in 2D or 3D, carrying out FACS, immunostaining, DNA and RNA isolation, RT-PCR, sequencing library preparation, confocal cell imaging, immunocytochemistry. May need to carry out mouse experiments including injection, mating, sperm, oocyte or embryo collection. The LSRP1 will assist multiple projects and must manage time efficiently in doing so. The LSRP1 will work independently under general guidance from the scientist and must have the ability to recognize irregularities in experimental results and modify experiments as needed. The LSRP1 will be in direct contact with a scientist for experimental design and troubleshooting, but experiments will be scheduled and performed by the LSRP1 independently. Additionally, the LSRP1 will order supplies and prepare some reagents for use by other members of the lab and will train new researchers in basic protocols. Duties include:
