Vanderbilt Temporary Services currently has multiple openings for light industrial/general labor positions such as Movers and Package Handlers. Positions are 40 hours or more per week and some positions begin immediately.
Duties and Responsibilities Include but are Not Limited to:
Move and transport furniture, boxes, hard and soft material, and various types and pieces of equipment in a manner consistent with material handling safety guidelines.
Set up and breakdown special event furniture and equipment such as tables, chairs, tents, stanchions, and various other items necessary to support events.
Operation and use of various material handling devices and equipment such as pallet jacks, tow motors, furniture dollies, carts, hand trucks, and panel dollies as necessary to accomplish tasks.
Follow written and verbal directions and report to the shop supervisor the necessary information to facilitate the completion of the work requested.
Use basic hand tools to dismantle and/or assemble furniture and equipment as related to moving or event set-up.
Properly load/unload trucks and trailers, use of tie down straps and other anchoring devices, and use of padding and covers. Properly handle all furniture and equipment to prevent damage.
Receive, sort and stack boxes and packages.
Other duties as assigned.
