DUTIES: The Department of Radiology is seeking a full-time CTS EKG Associate/Nurse Tech to work an evening shift of 4PM to 12AM. Responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to the following: - Assist RN in all aspects of patient care and perform 12 lead EKG'S. Place patient on cardiac monitor, monitor and record vital signs. Perform glucose testing and routinely check and stock emergency equipment and supplies. - Attending to patients "daily living, personal hygiene and simple human needs; housekeeping and cleaning related to patient care and transporting patients and supplies in order to maintain an atmosphere conducive to treatment and comfortable to patients. - Provide assistance to patients waiting for radiology studies. - Assist in patient transportation to and from departments, and transfers onto and off exam tables. - Answer telephones, and assist the radiology technologist in patient triage. - Receives patients' valuables and other belongings and conveys them to safe storage, keeping appropriate records. - Escorts patients to and from facilities where special treatments are administered. - As directed by professional staff, moves, positions, lifts and transports patients using variety of lifts and other aids in order to make patients more comfortable, to prepare patients for treatment and to deliver them to appropriate treatment are. - Bring bedpans and urinals to disabled patients. - Communicate with patients, listens to their complaints and responds by encouraging them to cooperate and participate in treatment activities in order to help patients achieve altitudes conducive to treatment and rehabilitation. - Perform a variety of housekeeping and cleaning duties in order to assure that the clinical area is clean, sanitary, orderly and properly supplied. - Inventory supplies to determine the need for ordering new supplies. (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION) QUALIFICATIONS: - Must have a current/valid NYS Nurse Technician, EKG certified, CNA certification, High school or GED diploma required. - One-year nurse technician experience in LTC facility or hospital setting required. - The ability to lift, move and position patients.
