The Temporary Part time Archives and Records Assistant – Support Staff II will work in coordination with the Records Management staff to provide Archives and Records imaging services and archives assistance. This position is responsible for assisting with document imaging within Records Management/Archives, and will also assist in the intake, operations and user support of the College Archives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist in the collection, intake processing and storage of archive materials. • Assist in the execution of the inventory, cataloging, re-house, and arrangement of archival collections. • Documentation and preservation of institutional history and provide assistance to patrons of the archives. • Regular attendance on campus is required for this position. • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Hours/Schedule: • This position will not exceed 20 hours per week during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Work Environment: • Typical office environment – moderate noise (i.e. business office with computer, phone, printer, light traffic)
Physical Demands: • Will occasionally be required to move and/or transport records weighing up to 50 lbs. for operation tasks. • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Strong Computer literacy/skills are essential. • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling documents. • Knowledge and experience with document scanning and imaging techniques and technologies. • Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. • Strong interest in WCC institutional history desired.
