West Virginia University's Potomac State College campus in Keyser, WV, an NJCAA member, is seeking qualified candidates for an Athletics Trainer . This full-time, 1 0-month position is responsible for s upervising the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries for sports as assigned by the Athletics Director.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Attend practices, home games, and some away contests.
Establish training room hours for treatment and rehabilitation.
Complete injury report forms for all injuries.
Be responsible for all insurance billing.
Make sure athletes have transportation to and from rehab if it is off campus.
Keep coaches updated on the status of an injured athlete.
Communicate with physicians and insurance companies.
Supervise student athletic trainers.
Be responsible for game management when Athletics Director is not available.
Work summer camps as needed.
Teach up to four credit hours per semester.
Bachelors degree in athletic training or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
1-2 years of athletic training experience at the college, professional, or high school sports level
Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
Certified by National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification
First Aid and CPR Certified
Eligible for WV Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) registration
