As we celebrate our 81st Anniversary, Dixie Electric Cooperative is currently seeking a career minded Building Maintenance person. The location for this opportunity will be based out of the Montgomery Office location. This exciting career opportunity requires the selected candidate(s) to work in a hybrid role, both in Building Maintenance and the Warehouse. The qualified candidate will support two locations and therefore be required to travel at least two days per week to the Union Springs office location. This position includes the following duties and responsibilities:
Perform building maintenance responsibilities of routine difficulty, including minor repairs
Adhere to the Cooperative’s guidelines for quality work and safe work practices
Maintain the cleanliness of grounds, parking lots, offices and warehouses
Responsible for room set-ups for meetings, moving furniture, and cleaning
Maintain the inventory and organization of the Janitorial Closet to ensure that the cleaning service has adequate supplies
Document and complete necessary records
Maintain tools and equipment
Maintain an assigned fleet of automobiles, to include washing, waxing, vacuuming, polishing, ensuring adequate fluid levels (gas, oil, washer fluid, etc.).
Deliver vehicles to outsourced facility for repairs and maintenance
Transports mail, materials, etc. between offices, as required
Other duties as determined by leadership
Drive a forklift and material handling operations
Attend training classes
Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a valid driver’s license. Within six months after hire, the successful candidate(s) must obtain a Forklift Certification, which must be maintained going forward. In addition, this position requires successful candidates to have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted, walk, climb steps and ladders, reach above the shoulder, kneel, stoop and crawl.
