The Social Media and Production Manager will be an integral part of the marketing team. The role of Social Media manager requires photography, videography and writing skills. The role of Production Manager requires organization, project tracking, diplomacy, and persuasion skills.
This full-time position involves communicating via social media the key, strategic messages through storytelling that illustrates the dynamic life at Idyllwild Arts, with the goal of maintaining a strong presence that reflects the institutions’ brand identity. Candidates should be fluent in current technologies and up-to-date on best practices in digital communications/social media. Candidates should be comfortable in a rigorous and fast-paced environment that requires collaboration, creativity, flexibility and adaptability, working with a range of departments.
The Production Management role requires managing marketing creative briefs, collecting or clarifying missing information with internal clients, obtaining approvals, conveying client feedback and ensuring clear communication between creative services, internal departments and external partners. Should be proficient in managing excel spreadsheets and production calendars.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form and ability to develop efficient processes.
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to conduct research, analyze and interpret data.
Ability to establish work priorities, set and meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and think and plan strategically and creatively
Strong communication skills and a sophisticated understanding of what should be communicated to different audiences, including current parents, prospective families, the general public, marketing partners and internal IA clients.
Knowledge and ability of social media strategies and tactics.
Knowledge and ability to oversee the scheduling and production of marketing projects, including collateral, advertising, and the website, and to communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
Work with Director of Marketing, and the marketing team, to create and implement marketing messages that support the strategic initiatives of the Academy and the Summer Program.
Social Media Responsibilities
Manage Social Media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:
Curate relevant content to reach the institutions’ ideal candidates.
Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video and written).
Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “Social” way while cultivating leads and inquiries.
Develop and expand community and/or blogger outreach efforts.
Compile report for management showing results
Become an advocate for Idyllwild Arts in Social Media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate, and directing others to the correct departments.
Stay current with all Social Media trends on existing and future platforms.
Develop a strategy and implement a proactive process for capturing customer online reviews. Monitor online ratings and respond accordingly.
Monitor trends in Social Media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the business. Report notable threats to appropriate management.
Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising the Social Media campaigns.
Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of Social Media campaigns. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
Expand digital marketing capabilities to take alternative routes to market, including, but not limited to Internet, website marketing and web advertising, social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), email, viral video (YouTube), mobile devices.
Bring strong analytical skills and experience with Google Analytics and additional inbound and outbound marketing software (MailChimp). Oversee Mailchimp email schedule to monitor communication frequency and make recommendations regarding consolidation.
Clean up Mailchimp email lists. Delete bouncebacks.
Production Manager Responsibilities
Lead weekly production meetings. Have knowledge of production timelines, including first round review status, second round review and final approval dates.
Nudge clients as necessary – in a friendly way - to collect necessary information and approvals, and to stay on schedule.
Position the marketing creative services team as a primary authority for marketing communications about IA, and a resource to all of the departments.
Oversee off site freelancers who create posters for smaller student performances. Get approvals from creative team, then clients. Process freelancer invoices for payment.
Review all marketing requests with Director of Marketing prior to work commencing.
Education - Bachelor’s degree
Respects the guidelines and goals of the Marketing Department. Expands on Social Media & Communications best practices to include professional development in addition to acquiring further skills in design.
Works effectively with teams, while at the same time can work independently with hard deadlines.
Able to diplomatically solve problems and work with different constituencies
Understands an arts boarding community: participates social and cultural events, acts as an enthusiastic supporter of school events

Experience living in a boarding community, or in working with Idyllwild Arts or the Idyllwild community. Or experience with leading, instructing, and working with youth

Ability and desire to work within the Idyllwild community, Riverside County, or commute a reasonable distance, that does not impede on-time arrival during winter months.
Obtain and maintain a valid California Driver License, pass a criminal history background check as required by California Education Code Section 44237, and pass a TB test.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS
While Performing The Duties Of This Position An Incumbent May Be Required To:
Regularly remain sedentary for long periods of time in meetings and while processing information and paper work both manually and on a computer.
Reach with the hands, arms, and use of hands to finger, type, and manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse.
Additionally, the incumbent must be able to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person.
Occasionally, incumbent may be required to lift up to 25 pounds, traverse uneven terrain and climb stairs while moving about campus, bend and stoop, conduct tours and show visitors campus facilities.
Provide his/her transportation for local and remote events.
Work hours vary and may include days, nights, and weekends.

Idyllwild Arts is a co-ed boarding and day school for 275 students in grades 9-12.
