A prominent Midwest manufacturer of on-road, heavy construction and related mobile equipment is seeking a high energy, self-motivated individual to drive sales and manage existing accounts within territories in the eastern halves of the U.S. and Canada as a working Sales Manager.
The ideal candidate will possess strong business and sales acumen and will be capable of effectively promoting the sale of company products and services throughout a wide geographic area. The Sales Manager will be expected to manage their territory and accounts in accordance with the highest ethical standards while orchestrating the collection of market intelligence to support executive decision-making. The candidate must possess consultative selling skills sufficient to enable them to identify prospective customer needs and match these to available products and services. As a Sales Manager, this person will be responsible for leading the Sales Team in meeting or exceeding its budgeted sales volume and revenue targets. This person must ensure the Sales Team effectively prospects for new business while maintaining existing customer relationships.
Travel extensively within a large geographic territory, making regular overnight stays.
Provide effective coaching and mentoring to ensure the growth and development of each member of the sales team that drive revenue and earnings opportunities.
Consistently close sales to achieve monthly and annual objectives.
Assemble, issue and manage quotes in accordance with company standards.
Achieve sales goals related to volume, margin and market share.
Identify market trends.
Develop a high level of professional and product knowledge.
Actively manage the public image of the company through involvement of the Sales Team in industry and community associations.
Foster effective cooperation and collaboration between the Sales Team and other functional disciplines within the company.
Identify and recommend product changes that would create value for customers.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience with and knowledge of construction and related, on-road equipment.
Managing, Coaching, and Mentoring a Sales Team.
Experience with leading bid strategies and establishing pricing controls.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Consultative selling skills.
Must possess a clean driving record and CDL.
Bachelor’s Degree, but not mandatory with sufficient, applicable work experience 5-7 years of sales experience Construction equipment knowledge is highly preferred
