Provide statistical support for all field trials, including development of study design, selection of appropriate statistical methods, sample size calculations, and conducting statistical analysis and interpretation on data collected. JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - Experimental design: Design, plan and select experimental designs and appropriate statistical framework for data analysis and interpretation for multiple genetic and agronomic experiments.
30% - Essential - Genomics data analysis: Process, analyze, and curate genomic data for immortal plant populations used in genetic and genomic studies. The ideal candidate would also be able to write in a Unix/Linux programming environment to create specialized functionality in the genomics pipeline.
40% - Essential - Independent research: The candidate will be responsible for contributing scientifically to the advancement of a genomics and applied plant-breeding laboratory. The ideal candidate would also develop independent research interests that accompany the current grant funding. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education & Experience: A PhD in computational biology, statistics, population genetics, or related field. Experience working with complex data such as multi-location field trails and genomic data. Ability to work in a Unix/Linux environment to process and analyze genomic data. RESPONSIBILITIES:
