Located at the Clemson University Restoration Institute in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Test Bench Operator provides support as part of a team responsible for the operation of the 15 MW wind turbine test bench on a 24/7 basis. Executes the tests, improves the operational efficiency of the test bench, and assists with scheduled maintenance on the test bench. Requires shift work to support the operations. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES:
Test Bench Operation: 50% - Essential Performs operation of the test bench and data acquisition system through several computers within the control room; requires strong computer skills to monitor several different systems to ensure that the test bench is operating correctly.
Electro-Mechanical Troubleshooting: 20% - Essential Works individually, and with a team to address equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. Solves technical issues on the test bench.
Safety: 20% - Essential Completes required safety training. Performs safety task analysis (STA) on non-routine tasks. Identifies and control discovered hazards. Works toward compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Reporting and Data Collection: 10% - Essential Completes operations reports, and finalizes data collection during each shift. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and experience or additional technical training in the repair and maintenance of electronic or electromechanical equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 04; Salary range for this position is $39,700 - $48,550
This is a temporary, time-limited position eligible for benefits.
There are 3 positions availiable. BENEFITS INFORMATION:
Employees who are in time limited positions will earn one and one-quarter days of Annual and Sick Leave per month for a total of thirty (30) days per year. Eligible part-timers will earn days on a pro rata basis. APPLICATION DEADLINE:
