Regulatory Compliance Manager - Industrial Fumigant Company (IFC)

Under the general direction of the Vice President – Eastern US & Risk Management, ensures compliance with EPA regulations and other appropriate state and federal laws.
Percentage of Time
Directs, coordinates and occasionally performs annual Corporate Quality Control audits on pest control accounts in all territories.
Manages and ensures compliance with applicable EPA regulations. Manages and renews company EPA licensing for IFC applicators.
Manages the Company’s compliance with all applicable Department of Transportation requirements through various duties, including but not limited to maintaining driver qualification files, training employees on DOT regulations, administering the Drug and Alcohol testing program and remaining up-to-date on new DOT regulations to ensure compliance.
Oversees the implementation of OSHA safety programs and performs all duties necessary to ensure compliance.
Provides assistance to IFC customers regarding labeling information and product-usage instruction, and researching EPA issues.
Verifies all service paperwork for federal and state recordkeeping requirements and matches the paperwork for filing.
Oversees blood testing program for pesticide exposure, hazardous waste disposal, permitting and record keeping of program
Maintains restricted-use pesticide lists and ensures state product registration.
Perform initial training for new employees regarding DOT, EPA, and OSHA; as well as Annual Compliance Training
Manage and oversee record keeping for DOT, EPA, and OSHA
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Degree in Environmental Science
Minimum of 5 years in the Pest Management industry
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to analyze and interpret legal documents
Excellent telephone techniques
Good interpersonal communication skills
Conflict resolution abilities
Ability to implement necessary regulatory policies and procedures in an industrial environment to comply with federal and state laws and regulations
Good time management skills
Sound judgement and decision-making abilities
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Basic mechanical systems and repair
Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA laws and regulations
General office procedures and equipment
Proficiency with PC’s and computer software
Strong knowledge of pest-control operations and auditing procedures
Valid driver’s license
Current motor vehicle insurance
Travel required 30%
Extensive keyboard and computer work
Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull 21-50lbs
Ability to lift and carrying up to 20 lbs.
Some climbing, stooping, crouching, crawling and kneeling
Frequent walking, sitting, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, dexterity, feeling, tasting/smelling, depth perception, color vision and field of vision
Possibility of exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals
Moderate exposure to weather, extreme heat /cold, wet and/or humid conditions, noise intensity level, vibration, darkness/poor lighting, moving mechanical parts, confined spaces, heights, exposed places, dirt/dust, odors, elevated work places, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fire hazards, and other environmental conditions
May require the utilization of protective equipment such as ear, eye, footwear and breathing
