This is a revenue generating position focused on recruiting a population of International students and students interested in the Sustainable Business Enterprise Major (SBE) (first year students). Responsible for all aspects of the admissions recruitment cycle including travel to high schools and college fairs, communicating with guidance counselors, secondary school teachers, prospective students and parents. Maintains accurate records and works proactively with all stages of student recruitment from prospect through matriculation. Specific duties include (but are not all inclusive):
Consistently meet and exceed territory and SBE recruitment goals.
Build and maintain necessary relationships with prospective students and other influencers.
Prepare and deliver effective recruitment presentations at high schools, fairs, and community groups.
Counsel and guide students through each stage of the admissions process.
Use social media as an integral part of their outreach.
Become knowledgeable and articulate about Unity College, its programs, market niche, strategies and procedures.
Manage all aspects of assigned Program based recruiting as well as International students as a portion of the whole admissions funnel.
Full life cycle management of a pool of applicants: proactive and holistic student contact and conversion throughout the inquire, application, and processes using the Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) database.
Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment strategy designed to attract and retain an academically talented, financially viable and diverse student body.
Maintain accurate visit and recruiting records for all high schools in an assigned territory.
Assist prospective Unity College students, applicants, accepted and deposited students, in navigating the college decision process. Contact by phone, email, social networking and traditional mail is required.
Serve as primary information provider for students and their families during the financial aid award process.
Conduct campus interviews with visiting students and their families.
Attend Open House and Preview events as well as New Student Experience; answer questions families have during their visits to the campus.
Partner with Unity College Area Representatives to recruit greater number of students from secondary and tertiary territories.
Extensively travel and work necessary hours to recruit high school students through presentations at high schools, fairs, and collaborative work with partners, schools or community groups and other off-campus events to ensure recruitment goals are met and exceeded.
Participate in training programs to develop professionally and become fully informed about the College and its recruiting and admissions strategies.
Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports on all recruitment activities as needed.
Recruits primarily for SBE and international students. Students interested in all other programs will be transferred to territory specific admissions counselors on the team. In turn, the this team will transfer all SBE and International inquiries to the SBE counselor.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in higher education or environmentally related field as well as the following requirements:
3 years' experience in college admissions recruiting or sales. Experience in organizing and developing high school articulation agreements.
Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
Excellent initiative and organizational skills with ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
Great time management skills; efficient in handling paperwork.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability and willingness to work with students from diverse political/socioeconomic backgrounds and a wide range of physical and academic abilities.
Good skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and computerized database systems.
Personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of the college.
This is a full-time, calendar- year, exempt position. Primarily day shift with weekends and/or extended hours. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and meeting the college's needs. Extensive travel is required.
While performing the duties of this job, is regularly required to sit, stand and walk as well as talk and hear. Must have the ability to lift, move and/or carry equipment and supplies up to 40 lbs and to load/transport admissions materials, displays and equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Use of either hand for repetitive movements such as grasping, grasping and turning, and fine manipulation. Often required to walk across campus and ascend and descend stairs to attend meetings and during tours.
