Unity College is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Admissions, a results orientated position which manages an assigned geographic territory in order to recruit students to Unity College. Responsible for all aspects of the admissions recruitment cycle including travel to high schools and college fairs, communicating with guidance counselors, secondary school teachers, prospective students and parents. Maintains accurate records and works proactively with all stages of student recruitment from prospect through matriculation. Specific duties include (but are not all inclusive):
Consistently meet and exceed territory recruitment goals.
Build and maintain necessary relationships with prospective students and other influencers.
Prepare and deliver effective recruitment presentations at high school, fairs, and community groups.
Counsel and guide students through each stage of the admissions process.
Use social media as an integral part of their outreach.
Willingness and ability to work evenings, weekends and travel extensively to achieve recruitment goals.
Become knowledgeable and articulate about Unity College, its programs, market niche, strategies and procedures.
Coordinate with the development office to utilize alumni relationships in the recruitment process.
Manage all aspects of an assigned recruiting territory and portion of the whole admissions funnel.
Full life cycle management of a pool of applicants: proactive and holistic student contact and conversion throughout the inquiry, application, and processes u sing the Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) database.
Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment strategy designed to attract and retain an academically talented, financially viable and diverse student body.
Maintain accurate visit and recruiting records for all high schools in an assigned territory.
Assist prospective Unity College students, applicants, accepted and deposited students, in navigating the college decision process. Contact by phone, email, social networking and traditional mail is required.
Serve as primary information provider for students and their families during the financial aid award process.
Conduct campus interviews with visiting students and their families.
Attend Open House and Preview events as well as New Student Experience; answer questions families have during their visits to campus.
Partner with Unity College Area Representatives to recruit greater numbers of students from secondary and tertiary territories.
Travel and work flexible hours to recruit high school students through presentations at high schools, fairs, and collaborative work with partners, schools or community groups and other off-campus events as needed.
Participate in training programs to develop professionally and become fully informed about the College and its recruiting and admissions strategies.
Demonstrate a high degree of commitment to customer service and student success.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with at least 1-3 years of job-related experience. Other requirements are:
Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
Excellent initiative and organizational skills with ability to work both autonomously and in a team
Great time management skills; efficient in handling paperwork
Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to work with students from diverse political/socioeconomic backgrounds and a wide range of physical and academic abilities.
Good skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and computerized database systems.
Personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of the college.
Master's Degree in higher education or environmentally related field preferred.
Experience in college admissions recruiting or sales.
Experience in organizing and developing high school articulation agreements.
This is a full-time, calendar-year, exempt position. Primarily day shift with weekends and/or extended hours. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and meeting the college's needs. Extensive travel required.
While performing the duties of this position, is regularly required to sit, stand and walk as well as talk and hear. The employee must have the ability to lift, move and/or carry equipment and supplies up to 40 lbs. and to load/transport admissions materials, displays and equipment. Specific vision required by this position include close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Use of either hand for repetitive movements such as grasping, grasping and turning, and fine manipulation. Often required to walk across campus and ascend and descend stairs to attend meetings and during tours.
Work is performed mostly in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is somewhat quiet but can be distracting at times with multiple activities and conversations, and varying levels of traffic in the office.
