Serves as Assistant Farm Manager at the Clemson Student Organic Farm (SOF). Assists and report to the Clemson SOF Manager in accomplishing the crop production, crop marketing, infrastructure maintenance and land stewardship goals of the SOF farm while simultaneously leading and training student workers in these farm activities. JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - Farm Management: Assists the Farm Manager in all aspects of the farm operations, management, and infrastructure maintenance
25% - Essential - Supervision: Trains and supervises student workers.
20% - Essential - Program Operations: Plays a major role in CSA market program operations, including in program planning, customer relations and outreach
15% - Essential - Records Mgmt: Organizes and maintains farm records including for organic certification.
10% - Essential - Outreach: Contributes to program outreach including public speaking and development of articles for Clemson and local media. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree in animal husbandry, agriculture or a related field and experience in agricultural research or animal care that is directly related to the area of employment. Work experience in animal care or agricultural research may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. RESPONSIBILITIES:
