Birmingham Freightliner is looking for this individual. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Peach State Truck Centers, one of the largest commercial truck dealer groups in the US, you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations at our Birmingham dealership, including New and Used Truck Sales, Service and Body Shop Operations and Part Sales. In this role you will work closely with the Corporate Operations and Administration support teams.
Planning and developing short and long-term goals and objectives annually for the dealership, and submitting time projections to corporate management for approval
Maintaining a staff of qualified leaders, evaluating performance and developing short and long-term goals for each manager
Giving close attention to daily operations, recommending and creating improved courses of action where necessary
Conveying the policies and procedures of the Company and the dealership to all employees and following up with employees to ensure that these are understood and followed
Maintaining positive, ongoing communications with corporate support structures
Creating and maintaining strong working relationships with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel
Coordinating regular meetings with the managers of each department to review their profitability and efficiency and to make corrections and/or improvements when needed to meet profit goal
Creating cost-effective advertising programs and merchandising strategies for the dealership in conjunction with the marketing specialist
Focusing on any customer or employee complaints that department managers are unable to rectify and taking the necessary steps to resolve these complaints
Previous experience in a Class 8 Truck Dealership is a must.
Previous experience in the GM position or someone in dealership leadership position ready to make the move up. Exposure to sales required.
Graduate of ATD Dealer Academy is preferred.
At least 5 years managing employees and 1 to 2 years’ experience managing other managers
Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a fully accredited two-year college or technical school
