Potomac State College, part of the West Virginia University system of campuses, is seeking qualified candidates for a Bus Driver II . This position is responsible for providing transportation services for the College community and its visitors, and will perform a wide variety of maintenance related duties when not driving.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Drive bus on scheduled routes and be responsible for quality service and rider safety while on bus or vans.
Arrange route schedule and trips for college travel needs for both in-state and out-of-state trips.
Operate specially equipped hydraulic lift safely for pick-up and delivery of persons with impaired mobility when needed.
Drive campus student/staff shuttle.
Inspect bus and vans and be responsible for safe operating condition.
Maintain bus and vans in a clean, orderly and safe condition, including exterior and interior cleaning, fueling/oil, touch-up paint, changing and rotating tires, and installing chains during inclement weather.
Report and coordinate repair maintenance deemed necessary to ensure the safe operation of the bus fleet.
Assist in training of new drivers on routes, policies and customer relations.
Provide maintenance related duties including, but not limited to, moving and/or relocating furniture, minor repairs, and assisting maintenance lead workers as needed.
Assist with lawn care and snow/ice removal.
Janitorial service if needed.

Pay Grade: 12
High school diploma or GED
1-2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Good public relations skills
Ability to deal with difficult people
Physical abilities required:
Eye and foot motor coordination to operate a bus in congested/confined spaces, and on mountainous terrain and other dangerous roads.
Good night vision.
Coordination to operate power equipment and snow removal equipment.
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Ability to stoop, climb, and bend to clean bus and do maintenance duties.
Commercial driver's license (CDL) required
Hazardous material cleaning and CPR/first aid preferred
