Enforces state, county and municipal laws, rules and regulations. Provides for the protection and security of persons and property of Clemson University. Reports to Watch Commander Lieutenant on the daily oversight and supervision of a uniform patrol shift.
35% - Essential - Staff and Personnel Management: Reports to Watch Commander Lieutenant for daily oversight of personnel assigned to a uniform patrol shift; to include patrol officers, student patrol, mutual aid officers and support personnel on duty. Oversees daily operations of uniform patrol shift. Participates in duty related training, assists Lieutenant in providing orientation and on duty training for new employees. Assigns personnel and allocates resources as needed to meet demands as they arise during a tour of duty.
35% - Essential - Law Enforcement: Patrols all buildings and properties within Clemson University's jurisdiction to include adjacent roadways and facilities to observe and assist subordinate officers. Provides protection and security for persons and property on campus. Monitors pedestrian and vehicular traffic, installing and removing traffic control devices when necessary. Investigate and complete motor vehicle collision reports. Exercises arrests powers and issues summons when appropriate. Collects evidence, completes investigations and incident reports, testifies in court and prosecutes summary court cases. Perform traffic safety enforcement and participate in traffic safety initiatives. Perform community outreach/public service and educational programing.
30% - Essential - Administrative Management: Prepares reports of shift activities, reviews written reports of subordinates and ensures reports are complete, accurate, and timely. Notifies proper authorities of serious incidents and unusual occurrences based on general orders and directives. Assists other law enforcement agencies, fire department and other University departments when needed. Conduct regular training activities for line officers. Perform line inspections as needed. Complete annual review of subordinate personnel using the University EPMS format. Complete other administrative tasks as assigned by the Watch Commander Lieutenant.
A high school diploma and experience performing patrol or investigative duties with a public law enforcement agency. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required law enforcement experience.

Education - High School or Equivalent
Experience: 2+ years experience. Experience performing patrol or investigative duties with a a public law enforcement agency; a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required LE experience.
Licenses & Certifications: S.C. Class I Law Enforcement Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council; Group I Constable Commission; a valid driver's license
