Under the supervision of the Director of Event Services & Venue and Operations, oversees operations of all venues managed by Campus Activities & Events which includes the Edgar Brown Union, Tillman Auditorium, Hendrix Student Center, Barnes Center and outdoor reservable spaces. Responsible for all aspects of technical and production services within and beyond CA&E venues. Performs other duties as assigned.
35% - Essential - Operations, Strategic Planning & Safety: Oversee daily operations of all venues managed by CA&E to ensure that facilities and inventory are well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing and safe. Develop strategic short & long-term plans regarding maintenance, replacement priorities and capital projects. Ensures that venues, staff and tenants for prepared for emergency situations through documentation and implementation of procedures, trainings and drills. Evaluate needs of individual programs and events to ensure safe production.
25% - Essential - Technical, Production & Specialty Services: Responsible for all aspects of technical services including sound, lighting, audio-visual, staging and rigging. Develop a team of professional and student staff who are well prepared to provide specialty production services for programs and events in and out of CA&E venues. Oversee all production elements for major events. Ensure that related expenditures meet the budget expectations of CA&E and/or our clients.
15% - Essential - Supervision: Directly hires, trains, evaluates and supervises two professional staff members. Provide effective leadership and professional development for all full time employees. Ensure that each staff member has a clear understanding of their responsibilities and roles and how their work supports the success of the broader team.
15% - Essential - Student Development & Learning: In support of CA&E's commitment to student employment, ensures that all levels of student staff members are appropriately prepared and supervised to be successful in their assigned roles which may include daily operations, changeover, technical services, and exceptional customer service. Through training, support and feedback, student staff should be engaged and function in an autonomous fashion, ultimately supporting the the goals of the department.
10% - Essential - Administrative: Responsible for evaluation, interpretation and creation of policies and procedures that will impact departmental standards and practice. Participates in department, division and university committees as needed. Sets and oversees operational budgets to ensure stewardship of all CA&E venues, equipment and related inventories. Serves as a contributor to the assessment and reporting processes of Campus Activities & Events.
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
