The Director of Premier Leasing will concentrate on optimizing portfolio inventory through proactive analysis and generation of transactions by focusing on higher end and boutique-type retailers. In this role, the incumbent is expected to leverage existing and establish new relationships and demonstrate entrepreneurial decision-making to expand the scope of tenancy. Working fluidly between multiple departments including development, leasing, financial and legal, the position requires focus on independent deal-making as well as collaborative efforts.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS •Cultivate and nurture existing as well as new premier retailer relationships to enable the correct merchandising of shopping centers. •Multi-task oriented proven deal-maker capable of managing and motivating relationships internally and externally: team members, prospects, real-estate partners. •Learn the portfolio’s top tiered malls’ leasing and development/redevelopment plans •Execute more challenging leasing assignments such as the leasing of malls undergoing renovations and/or redevelopments, big box leasing, and/or working with high profile tenants as needed •Prepare lease proposals, gather tenant information, and evaluate tenant qualifications •Track and ensure timely processing of lease contracts following approval by owners and ensure that approved terms are accurately depicted in contracts •Work closely with the Leasing Department and property assigned Leasing Managers to maintain a strong cohesive team •Effectively assist other departments in carrying out terms of the lease to facilitate goal accomplishment •Attend company-approved, industry sanctioned deal making events to meet with prospective tenants regarding new and existing projects. •Flexibility in working hours, regular attendance, and the ability to travel extensively
SKILLS & QUALFICATIONS •Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred •5+ years landlord experience leasing to high profile retailers •May consider 5+ years leasing experience working for upscale tenants •Proven network of deal-making with premier retailers (bridge/upscale) •Strong business acumen including financial analysis, company operations, and general economic climate factors •Ability to multi-task •Ability to work independently •Excellent communication skills including key listening and collaboration skills •Self-starter with strong organizational, planning and time management skills •Experience working with business users and facilitating goals across disciplines (legal, finance, etc.) •Solid technology skills
