Penske Logistics is looking for Materials Control Analysts to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are self-motivated, with strong analytical and computer skills, customer-centric, and safety conscious. This position coordinates all processes and functions of a load planning and freight movement. Provides visibility to management by tracking, process over-sight, auditing, researching and trouble shooting operational issues or functions.
The work schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a rotating weekend duty. The rotating weekend duty requirement is to be on call during the week and work the weekend from home, usually once every 2 months.
Job requirements may include:
-Tender freight to third-party carriers
-Schedule delivery appointments with customers
-Track shipments to ensure delivery deadlines are met
-Work with transportation companies/carriers to coordinate deliveries
-Update Transportation Management System with current shipment information
-Complete daily reports
-Weighs alternative financial decisions before taking action
-Identify cost savings opportunities for the customer
-Provides load exception investigation and reporting
-Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
-High school diploma or equivalent required
-Associate's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred
-At least 2 years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast paced environment
-Strong customer focus
-Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as Penske associates
-Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
-Strong organizational skills
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Advanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook required
-Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
